Studio

Posted on Friday, 8 April

My Mum realized that the studio space she promised me would be very uncomfortable when the weather starts becoming hot and that my Dad might actually want it later on since it was originally his exclusive space. Even though I’m no longer getting this workspace with the lanai and tiled floor, I will be getting the space I first asked for, and it’s making me more excited about having a studio at home.

It’s still not as big as some artists’ workspaces, but I think it’s good enough. I don’t see myself making murals in the near future, at least not on my own.

Because it does have its own problems, I decided to give it a makeover: paint job for the walls and the divan by the window, a new book case, a whiteboard or a cork board, a new set of curtains, a desk lamp, a trash bin and a bunch of framed artworks. I hope to make it look like it’s going to serve its purpose, nothing fancy  though. :)

{EDIT} With this in mind, I thought of raising a bit of money to cover my upcoming expenses. I really don’t want to eat too much into my savings which really isn’t much to begin with, and I don’t want my mom to pay for this since she’s already giving up a room for me. I am hoping to sell small works, also as a motivation for me to be more productive and as means to get myself out there. Friends, I hope that you would support me in this endeavor. When my new room is functional, I promise to invite you to lounge and drink with me to celebrate.

I hope everyone’s doing well.
